As of today, DebatingOnline is now four years old. In that time, we have grown from a small community of active users, to a small community of inactive users, to a large community of visitors. The site is currently receiving upwards of 40,000 visitors per month, and has been achieving this steady figure for two years.
Now, for the important news; the site is for sale. I no longer have the commitment, time or want to maintain or develop the website, and thus, it has become stagnant, however, still with large visitor numbers. Here are the key figures about the sale:
- We receive approximately 40,000 visitors per month, almost all from web searches
- The website has never been monetized, and as such I do not know the earning potential
- The site has a unique theme that was coded by myself
- The forum runs on Simple Machines forum software, however, this can easily be converted to another system of your choosing
- We currently have 240 members, following a cull of completely inactive users
- The domain name itself is likely worth more than the asking price
- Each visitor makes an average of 3.2 pageviews
- The domain does not need renewed until April 11th 2011, and renewal is priced at $9 USD per year
Asking price: £250 GBP / $400 USD
For the asking price, you will receive the domain name, the access to my admin user account which you may rename as you wish, all backups since April 2006, rights to the use of the theme, all rights to the contents of the forum.
You will not receive rights to the use of the posts. While you will receive these, all posts currently made are in the Public Domain and as such may not be used commercially. This is as per our forum rules.
If you are interested in this opportunity to buy an inactive, although highly trafficced forum, please contact me via email - ryan ..at.. debatingonline.org
While I would prefer to sell the site to someone who is already a member, this is not a prerequisite, and I will be happy to sell it to whomever wishes to purchase. Please be advised; the sale is final. Payments will be accepted either via bank transfer, or Paypal (sent as a gift to avoid fees).
Looking forward to hearing from any prospective buyers,
Ryan
