Can you ever know who you are? It's said that other people probably know you better than you know yourself, is this true?
Thing is everyone whines about how nobody knows or understands them, but you can't really know or understand yourself. Can you?

I don't think other people know me better than myself. Only you know what's going on in your head and only you know the complete truth about yourself.
We all learn more about ourselves as we go on, That's just natural and as for people whining about how nobody knows or understands them..Well they may be right but they shouldn't be whining about it.

We never stop learning about ourselves if we take the time to listen to that inner person...we are always evolving and developing so its an ongoing journey of discovery - knowing oneself....

I think people can have very distorted beliefs about who they are, like people who are anorexic for example. Also you get a lot of people over emphasize certain attributes of themselves, like they may think "I'm a really good (or bad) person" and attach a lot of significance to that. However the truth is probably that whatever good or evil they've done really hasn't had that much impact on the wider world.

I think that throughout life, people always wonder about themselves and who they "really are". Our opinions about ourselves change constantly too, whether we realize it or not. Other people have their own opinions on who we are and actually, if everyone knew what everyone else was thinking, we would find those opinions very different from what we actually percieve ourselves to be. In some cases, others might know a little more about us just because they are not biased on the subject.
