OK clearly you're missing my point here! The Vancouver logo actually has some form of symbolism and is an attempt to unit fighting nations! However the London logo is simply numbers jumbled together

I'm not doubting you because I'd never seen that logo before you prompted me too, but which nations in Canada is that logo trying to unite? And although I don't disbelieve you, I find it hard to believe that that emblem is genuinely an Inuit symbol, because it just looks like a child's stick-man drawing of a person.

Anyway, we don't have any warring tribes or factions in London! We can't unite fighting people. And I for one would be VERY against a logo that incorporates something like the Eye or Big Ben, because that would look so unbelievably tacky. I suppose they could do the logo underlined by the Thames or something...

Well the situation in Canada is still difficult between the native people and the settlers. Obviously the Inuits complain because the settlers are seen to have stolen their land. The symbol helps to unite these peoples by reaching out to the Inuits. Whilst it does look like it has been drawn by a child you will see the symbol around Canada in Inuit lands.
I suppose I have to agree with the comment about warring factions though. Although I feel they could have done something better. It almost seems as though some artist was rushed for a deadline and decided to scribble '2012' on a page!

Righto. Sounds fair enough. I admitt the adverty bits don't look very good, and the logo does look scribbled, but I still applaud the guts to actually publish the thing lol. We should get the best of Britain and make a logo out of that. Y'know, a football, James Bond, and maybe a TARDIS.

Dear God, if I was going to name a football player to represent the UK it would have to be Andy Johnson lol.

Personalities should not be on the logo though. When you think about it though, the logo has to be about the Olympics, including the year, and probably something about London, as well as being creative. Well, the 2012 logo does tick 3 of those four boxes...

Nothing wrong with pink at all. You're all just disbelievers, you've gotta squint at it, in just the right way, with your head tilted, and it forms a naked lady. Smiley

I've always been hormonal lol.

I think that the logo looks good in bright colours. It looks much better, à mon avis, rather than in sombre, dull colours. Come on, the Olympics is about excitement, showing off, and visual appeal! Why else would they have large opening ceremonies, flag waving, and the like? Let's keep it creative.

So let's start by changing our bloody national anthem! Smiley

There's no reason why a logo can't be pretty!

And yes, I agree, our anthem is rubbish, old, boring, slow, too-focused, and does need to be changed. I vote Jerusalem.
