But the grey matter that makes up the optical sense must be very similar across the human race, or even identical, maybe even the same as some other animals.
Absolutely; but I wasn't relating this to the bio-eye specifically, just a sidetrack about how brains are not all identical. But in this sense, I would not have thought that variation in brain activity would be enough of an issue not to have a bionic eye, unless you had something wrong with your brain.
Not not to, just they would have to have different 'models' I think.

Sidetracking; that's unlike you... Don't try and change the subject just because something I say holds merit for once. Not not to, just they would have to have different 'models' I think.
But in these situations there would be immense pressure to create equal eyes. People catorgarise others so very easily. Society could well interpret different models as "well, they have the more expensive one; that's because they're white." etc. Best to make an omni-fit eye.

Er...different models as in to co-ordinate with different brain patterns. Not as in 'pimp my eye'!

Interesting...lol they have to pass electrical safety checks! Seriously though, I wouldn't think there would be a risk. For a start they wouldn't be allowed to 'market' them if there was, but also how to other bionic organs work if: Up to 60 percent of the human body is water, the brain is composed of 70 percent water, and the lungs are nearly 90 percent water.

Yep. In ever single cell. The one I find ironinc is that the lungs are 90% water, but they are what fill with the stuff if you drown :/ But anyway yeah, there's lots of water in the body and other impliments get around the problem.

Apparently in some religions it is forbidden to use the word 'blind' in that song, due to offence or something. They have to say 'visually impaired'... "Three visually impaired mice..." Something just doesn't click does it?

A sign of the times...
Baah Baah ethnic minority hand reared free range sheep, Have you any man made fibre that caused no harm to an animal in the making? Yes equal citizen, yes equal citizen, three bags full according to the relevant weights and measures guidelines. One for the Employer who will accordingly remunerate me not less than the legal minimum wage, one for the young lady and one for the vertically challenged male minah at the other end of the road which is neither up nor down and certainly not a lower class part of town

To be fair, this might be a problem. A bionic eye or w/e we're calling it now would probably be quite conspicuous, and you never know what kind of prejudices people might form...
All I can advise wearers to do is keep away from the United Church of South Africa! (Not that I discredit the intellect of any of you, but I will be impressed if any of you understand that! ...except Gantidge, since I've told you before)
