hmm... i think that in moderation it is ok, and in some cases a good way to impose disipline, however, opening its door will only lead to huge gray areas and for that reason i would not advocate it, as some will take it to far,

btw, welcome to the forums,

children today need to be disciplined more. Parents are becoming afraid of their own young :s

but some behavior from kids are becoz there parents dnt communicate with them or they jus let them get away with things but i thnk that a little slap on the wrist is ok but a full on slap shouldnt n if a parent left a mark its classed as assult

"Parents are becoming afraid of their own young :s"

no they are not, they are becoming afraid of the law and what will happen to them, if they hit there child (within moderation) there is a fair chance they will attract the attention of social services, this lack of power to the perants detracts from discipline which leads to uneducated yobs on our street corners, harrasing other members of our socity, wile we could go to far towards hitting kids at the moment i think we have gone to far in the oppisite direction

If I had never been hit as a child i wouldn't be who i am today. I'd be a little spoilt brat. Its best for parents to hit their children, because pain is the only way kids learn some things. Pain is the only way anyone can learn some things.
