I agree nothing is full proof but it is a parents job to minimise any risk to their child.  I don't think handing a mobile to a 10 year old shows trust, it is more of  well the kid next door has one so my child has to have the same or better, such is the materialistic world we live in today.

i think 12 is a good age to have a mobile phone though ironicly ive had 1 snce i was 7 years old. the fact it doesnt give trust or responsibility, something you dont learn till you are older, so atleast if you are at the start of adolesence you will have use and some responsiblity for a phone

when talking about cell phones here you are not only talking about yourself here but also others around you bcoz it affects them aswell as it affects you, so havin children around can be really dangerous as these kind of waves in cell phones can have a massive risk of childrens lives.

Apparently cell phones (or what we call them "mobile phones") are supposed to cause some damage to the brain, i don't know if this is true :s

And also.....i think it was in the paper but there was girl on her mobile outside in thunder and lightening and she got struck by lightening which people think was caused by the phone!

There have been cases linked to mobiles and masts causing brain cancer although as yet this remains unproven in Court.   Logically speaking if you have a signal permanently emmiting into your brain it would follow that some kind of damage may occur but at this time it is speculative.

well cellphones can potentially give you brain cancer or increase the rate. BUT they've already got phones out with low frequency on the antenna to help.

that's why when you have a phone with an antenna..it can stick out. Not only is that for better reception but so that the frequency or w/e it's called(haven't kept myself up to date on this)

doesn't hit your HEAD. i dont have links to prove it, but we learned this in my grade 11 tech class..which i took in grade 9 so i hardly remember anything.

well it's like letting your self out in the cold without a jacket on, your not protecting yourself and you'll most likely get a cold. with eating a sausage or having certain cell phones. it's like your not protecting yourselfand you can potentially get cancer. i dont really have the patience to explain it properly. but it sort of makes sense when they say alot of things can cause cancer and other diseases.

i see what you mean......its just strange when they say a certain thing gives you cancer and then maybe a week later it doesn't get mentioned and they start selling the product again
